Who we are

ICA

ICA - Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual (Cinema and Audiovisual Institute), is located in the old Palácio Ludovice. The Palace was built in the 18^th Century as a residence for the family of the architect who designed it, the Architect João Frederico Ludovice. In the 19^th Century it is sold to Baron Costa Veiga who rents out various parts of the building. In 1890 the Police Headquarters was established here. In 1941, it is sold to the insurance Company Tranquilidade.

Between 1944 and 1945, the ground floor undergoes an important transformation, under the guidance of Architect Jorge Segurado, in order to house the Solar do Vinho do Porto (Port Wine Institute’s Wine Tasting Venue in Lisbon).
