Investment Obligations

Television Operators

Investment of television operators in the promotion and development of cinematographic art and the audiovisual sector:

• 0.75% of annual revenue from audiovisual commercial communication;
• 8% of the annual revenue from the audiovisual contribution.

• No. 2 and 3 of Art. 14 of Law no. 55/2012 of 6th of September.

Distributors

Investment of the distribution sector in cinematographic and audiovisual production:

• 3% of annual revenue from the distribution of cinematographic works;
• 1% of annual revenue from the distribution of videograms.

Operators of on-demand Audiovisual Services

Investment of on-demand audiovisual services operators:

• 1% of annual revenue from activities of on-demand audiovisual services.

Exhibitors

Cinematographic exhibitors should retain 7.5% of the price of the sale of cinema tickets to the public:

• 5% exclusively for the promotion of the cinematographic exhibition and the maintenance of the room generating the revenue, constituting revenue managed by the exhibitor and with its own accounting expression;

• 2.5% intended to ensure the display of European cinematographic works, including the acquisition of rights and any values owed by the exhibitor to the works distributor, and investing in equipment for digital display, in rooms that do not have them, and a minimum of 25% of this amount must be applied in the exhibition of supported national works.
