Operators of subscription-based television services are subject to an annual fee for each subscription for access to television services.
• € 2.00 / subscription to access to TV services (Article 4 of Law no. 28/2014 of 19th of May, introduces a transitional provision to this standard, from 2014 to 2019 the fee is € 1.75 / subscription to access TV services).
ICP -ANACOM transfers annually:
• From 2014 to 2020: the equivalent to 75% of the total amount payable by the operators of subscription-based television services (Article 4 of Law no. 28/2014 of 19th of May, introduces a transitional provision to this standard.
- In 2014, the amount to be transferred is equivalent to the total amount due by the operators of subscription-based services in that year.
- From 2015 to 2019, the amount to be transferred corresponds to the total amount due each year by the operators of subscription-based television services, multiplied by an updating factor equivalent to the cumulative variation of the consumer price index for 2014, calculated by the National Institute of Statistics Office, IP (Instituto Nacional de Estatística).
• From 2021 onwards, the amount to be transferred is multiplied by an updating factor equivalent to the cumulative variation of the consumer price index for 2020, calculated by the National Institute of Statistics Office, IP (Instituto Nacional de Estatística).
